ABOUT Dear Love
There is a story I am so moved and disturbed by:
Sharon Salzburg, who is a master of the loving kindness meditation practice, met the Dalai Lama on his first visit to the West. It was at a time when people didn’t know who he was. In that room, there were invited academics, meditators, spiritual writers and somebody in that room asked the Dalai Lama “What does Tibetan buddhism and your teachings have to say about self hatred and how to combat it?”
That man had to talk back and forth, restating and clarifying, for 15 MINUTES .. the Dalai Lama didn’t understand the question. He kept thinking he was mishearing it:
Wait, who’s the enemy?
Who’s the person you are having trouble with??
While us being calvinist westerners, raised on scarcity, and “you’re never enoughness” are resounding a “no, I AM the one I hate”. When the Dalai Lama finally grasped the question and looked around to realize everyone in that room shared this same feeling … he was devastated.
This plague, self-loathing, hums through us like a hidden current, so steady it feels like truth. Rarely do we pause to ask whether it is healthy to live in a mind that constantly judges, criticizes, and belittles itself. It is a choking poison. To believe you must earn love through perfection, or seek it from others to feel complete… leaves us wandering, like hungry ghosts, forgetting the love that already lives within.
This is not okay! So this is where this project is gonna start. Dear Love, is a simple and beautiful download, directly from the cosmos to your heart.
Every month, subscribers will receive:
-
a poem from one of the greats to open up your heartspace
-
a letter from the Spirit Of Unconditional Love ( aka SOUL! ) channeled through me
-
a mini keepsake (think a mini beeswax candlestick, a tiny packet of seeds, or a small teabag )
I hope this momento reminds us of our common nature, our inherent value, and our exquisite preciousness. That through sharing a little more kind words and love in this world, we will all start to be friendlier and speak kinder to ourselves. Because Love is for everyone, and everyone deserves to be loved.
Love,
